About me

I am Frederik Munk Madsen, a 19-year-old Dane currently studying computer science at Aarhus University. In my spare time I like to program in a wide variety of different languages, but primarily stick to C# or C99 C.

I sometimes write posts for this site about things that I work with or somehow find interesting and informative to write about, as I did with my research on the ICO file format, resulting in the posts The ICO file format and The Bitmap file format

While I usually prefer to program in C# or C, I am experienced with Java, as taught for the course Introduction to Programming and used in the course Foundations of Algorithms and Data structures.

This is a non-exhaustive list of projects, past and present, that I have to some extend been involved with, my contributions to open source can also be seen on my Github account, @Zarickan.

The Zendikar Framework C#, .NET
Multipurpose and multiplatform framework written for .NET using C#, which aims to improve the functionality of the standard library as well as a wide range of new functionalities, with everything from I/O and file formats to various networking protocols. Examples being an implementation of reliable UDP, R-UDP, or something as simple as reading/writing core value types to streams.
icotool C
Commandline utility for analyzing the metadata for icon and cursor files and extracting the images contained in them as binary data, bitmaps or whatever format they were originally in.
headers C, Open source
Single file libraries written in C, to help aid development of applications and libraries. Includes typedefs for the common types used, as well as efficient implementations of stacks, lists, linkedlists and more.
